Description
Forty plus years in the desert we roamed
Our faith and dependence on God was honed
In Sukkahs made of branches and leaves
Our shelters temporary as we moaned
But even as we wandered through the sands
God provided for us with His loving hands
Manna from above and water from rocks
He sustained us through journeys and shocks
We thank Him now for all He has done
For the journey He led us on was won
Through His grace and His mighty hand
We reached the promised land
Sukkot is a time to rejoice
To gather together in one voice
For this holiday reminds us of
God’s bounty and His endless love
The harvest is here, the fruit is ripe
And we bring it to the temple in delight
We dance and sing, we celebrate
With friends and family who congregate
In Sukkahs, we dwell with joy and cheer
We eat, we drink, we know God is near
For this holiday is a symbol of unity
A time of joy and divine opportunity
So let us rejoice in Sukkot’s light
And thank God for His presence and might
For in this holiday, we find delight
And in His grace, we find our sight.
