Depleted – Original with Frame

Description

On my knees I am, in darkness I lay
My head is bowed, my strength’s drained away
A cloud of exhaustion hovers my head
I am drained, spent, and emotionally dead

Around me lies a dark disk on the ground
A sign of the pain that I have found
Before me lies a grave, a reminder of death
Is this the end of my life’s quest?

On the verge I stand, of rising or falling down
Will I find the strength to turn this around?
My sight uncertain yet still yearn for you
My only light, my God who’s true

In pen and oil pastel, my world is exposed
Through every stroke, my pain’s imposed
My emotions on display, everything laid bare
My soul is stripped, I’m left within despair

Give me the strength to power through
Please grant this prayer of this drawing bare
And lift me up even though I’m low
To lead me or hang me wherever you go

This is “Depleted,” the world with and within me
A masterpiece capturing my agony
And though it may seem my spirit’s broken
I’m still here, my heart’s still open.

This was a poem by the subject in question
