The Goal
Welcome!
I’m the artist, Alex Bailey, and I’ve been blessed with a certain perspective thanks to God’s lessons. When I was a young boy, he opened my eyes and showed me mechanisms playing behind the scenes; what happens under the shallow surface. Likewise, I want to show you what God first showed me.
Through selling my pictures, I aim to inspire whoever sees them. I’m certain one will call to you.
The Artist
I am the owner, artist, and web designer of CrossingtheStreet.Art, Alex Bailey.
Honestly, I don’t have any sort of inheritance or fame to brag of. My family fell into difficult times soon after I was born and, due to uncontrollable circumstances, remained that way. Thankfully, they stayed together, which shouldn’t be notable but it’s rare these days. They stayed together due to their ideals and perseverance to keep their vows to each other and to our god and to love my siblings and me. I’m grateful for them.
They valued truth, honesty, perseverance, and God.
Perhaps, I remained unremarkable so I would have nothing apart from my god to brag of.
I’ve been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. Maybe even before that. My dad always loved drawing and painting too, so I must have inherited it from him, but he only gave me a few lessons, which would basically go like this: he set something in front of me and said “Now, I want you to draw this”.
I found a more fundamental lesson in that, though: everything you need to know to draw something that’s in front of you is already right there; in front of you. You don’t need to know how to draw, you just need to know what to draw and you’ll learn how along the way.
